benefit concert

9th Annual Medical Marijuana Benefit Concert

on Saturday, January 20, 2007.

It will be a full day festival showcasing a diverse selection of musicians, poets, dancers, visual artists and lots of creative interaction. There will also be an assortment of community speakers and organizations presenting information about medical marijuana. It should be a good time!!

This 11 hour event will work to raise funds and awareness for FL NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) medical marijuana campaign and the protection of patients’ rights. Previously, a person's right to use medical necessity as a defense to marijuana charges has been upheld by several appeals courts in Florida. Marijuana has proven therapeutically useful in treating numerous medical conditions including muscle spasticity, arthritis, and the nausea related to AIDS and cancer chemotherapy. Currently there are 11 states that have laws allowing marijuana to be used as medicine.

Now as we begin some preliminary organization for the 9th Annual Medical Marijuana Benefit Concert at Tobacco Road in January 2007, we are also focusing on some smaller projects with visual arts, independent films, spoken word, dancers and music. Many of these events will be at The Wallflower Gallery - an all ages venue that showcases a variety of artists in Downtown Miami.

This notice is part of the advanced promotions campaign to help to build up more public recognition for the issues concerning medical marijuana.. We are currently looking for sponsors to participate in this community event. Please feel free to contact Ploppy Palace Productions if you are interested in getting involved and helping to promote.

UCF Arena

ONE TICKET AVAILABLE

that's right lucky DCfC fans, there's one $28 ticket available for the cool price of a smile and a phone call to 407-325-1482... the first one to call and come and get it gets to see this show for free (unless, of course, you are a wealthy philanthropist eager to and insisting on donating obscene fundage to The Social Orlando arty fund, in which case you can have the ticket for whatever price you name and the blissful anonymity or big bold appreciation of your photo in lights on the side bar, your choice)...

whomever you are and whatever you are doing, hope it is fun! J

if you are into theatre, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 will be playing at the University High School this week Thursday through Sunday... fine cast and some great voices (one is heading for superstardom, just watch)...

TWO TICKETS AVAILABLE

that's right Orlando, I've got two extra tickets for this concert and you can have them simply by calling me and asking... if you are not flat broke and feel like covering the cost of the tickets, you'd be even more appreciated than a Cadbury Egg (and that's saying something for a chocolate lover)... but even if you are poor like me, you might still get into the concert for free if you get in touch on Wednesday and no generous soul has found me yet... hope to see you there...
